Tacos and Tipples – A match made in culinary heaven

Taco catering in San Diego has become an art check my site. Let’s elevate this experience by pairing the delectable bites and drinks with the perfect wines. This doesn’t require you to be a mixologist or sommelier; only a little curiosity and willingness for experimentation.

The first is fish tacos. These zesty, light treats are crying out for something crisp and fresh. Consider a Sauvignon Blanc or dry Riesling. These wines’ acidity cuts through the richness in the fish, while also enhancing the flavors. A classic Margarita is a great cocktail for cocktail lovers. The lime juice creates harmony in your mouth by resembling the citrus notes found in many fish tacos.

The next step is to make carnitas, a slow-cooked dish of juicy pork bursting with flavor. You want something strong enough to hold up the meat, but not overwhelm it. Enter Zinfandel or Malbec. Both wines have fruity profiles that compliment the richness of carnitas. Try a Paloma, a cocktail with grapefruit soda and base of tequila. It’s as if they were meant to be together.

You’ll want to cool the heat down without compromising the flavor of the tacos for those who cannot resist them. Rose chilled is the best choice here, as its subtle sweetness will balance out the heat. A Mojito will cool down any flames in your mouth, while still tasting delicious.

Vegetarian tacos also deserve to be in the spotlight! If you’re using grilled vegetables or beans to fill your tortillas, try pairing them with Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. These wines will enhance the earthiness of these ingredients without overpowering them. What about cocktails? The botanicals of gin work well with the vegetable-based fillings.

Next time you plan a taco party, or better yet hire San Diego taco caterers, don’t only think about the ingredients you will use to make your tortillas. Also consider what you’ll drink with them.
